LMERC is a collaboration of Lower Mainland Emergency Radio Coordinators working cooperatively for the benefit of their respective local authorities and the region as a whole.

In early 2017 representatives from North Shore Emergency Management, City of Richmond, City of Vancouver and VECTOR began to meet regularly to discuss items of mutual interest, share best practices and deepen cooperation between their emergency communication teams.

Fueled by community interest, expanding the concept was a natural outcome. In the fall of 2017 two dozen representatives from across the lower mainland came together to formalize the creation of the Lower Mainland Emergency Radio Coordinators as a collective organization known now as LMERC.

Areas of interest for future collaboration include drills and exercises, developing common operating standards, training and sharing of best practicies.

Participation in LMERC is open to all Metro-Vancouver / Lower Mainland and adjacent local authorities and regional districts. We welcome contributions from other like-minded organizations and agencies in Southwest BC. Please contact info@lmerc.ca to be added to our low-volume announcement mailing list.
